Trains to run with fog signal devices to maintain punctuality and safety of passengers: DRM

Ferozepur, December 17, 2020:  With the change in weather conditions, the railways organized a review meeting with the Additional Divisional Railway Manager and all branch officers of the Division through video conference on Thursday.  The meeting focused on increasing safety, punctuality and share of total freight loading during fog by using the fog signal devices.

Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Aggarwal said, the safety is very important for railways and instructions have been given to conduct a campaign to advise employees to increase safety during the fog season.

He instructed all the staff related to safety not to adopt any short cut methods during their duty so that there may be disruption in train operations. He also stressed the need to maintain the safety of the tracks, relays, panel rooms and human error for the smooth running of trains.

Giving priority to safety, DRM asked Senior Divisional Engineer / Coordinator to comprehensively monitor the cracks and welds of all the Divisional Assistant Engineers and Supervisors of the Board.

He informed that the senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer has been asked to ensure that all trains are fitted with fog signal devices so that trains are maintained on time. He asked the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Senior Divisional Steward Manager to keep in touch with the entrepreneurs/traders of the Business Development Unit of the Board so that they can get better services for goods loading.

He also instructed to give the concessions being given by the railways to the customers. He said that compared to last year, there has d increase in loading of food grains and other items this year.
