Tale of grit and glory: Living legends of 1971 Indo-Pak War remember 15 Punjab Bn martyrs

Hussainiwala (Ferozepur): As many as, 25 retired Army officers, and soldiers, settled in different parts of the country even from Delhi, of 15 Punjab Battalion – established in 1705 by Baba Aale – remembered 1971 war brave hearts who valiantly defended the aggression of Pakistan Army in the Battle of Hussainiwala Ferozepur Punjab and sacrificed their lives, during 1917 Indo-Pak War, by offering floral tributes, at the War Memorial of P15 Punjab (Patiala) for Indo-Pak War (03 Dec 1971)monuments erected at Hussainiwala near National Martyrs Memorial of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
Amar Singh expressed 52 years back, the scene of war and his sentiments in a poetic style remembering the war heroes of the 1971 War, especially remembering among others Major Kanwaljit Singh Tankan Wala of the first firing attack at 6.40 pm.
Col Patial said the living legends shared the tale of grit and glory of the 1971 War with his Coy Commander, about the first flashlight of December 3 1971 seen by him. Pakistan attacked with the slogan of ‘Ali Ali’ while the Indian soldiers reverted back with the slogan ‘Bole So Nihal’. We cannot forget that night when the jawans were saying, “Nothing to worry about, Sir, we are with you”. The three attacks by Pakistan were retaliated by Indian Army jawans.
