DLSA organizes marathon of school students on “Events against Drugs”
Ferozepur, May 27,2016: Under directions of Punjab and Haryana High Court and Punjab Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh, an awareness programme against drugs was organized at local Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium. A marathon of students of Govt. Sr. Sec. School Boys and Girls was flagged of by S.K.Aggarwal, District and Sessions Judge, Ferozepur.
Giving message on this account, S K Aggarwal asked the students to participate in sports apart from their studies which inculcate number of qualities in one’s life.
He said, “Those who are trapped in this social evil are bound to lose their identity and are seen with suspicious nature apart from becoming a burden for the parents”.
Thus a support of all sections of the society is necessary to shun the menace of drugs, he added.
He said, those who are not in a position to fight their cases in the court of law, free legal services are provided by the Legal Services Authority.
Earlier, the members of Paddlers Club, Ferozepur – dedicated to create awareness for health and environment by organizing paddling daily in the early morning – welcomed the District and Sessions Judge.
Present among others on this occasion were – Bikramjit Singh Secretary DLSA, R.K.Vij, Advocate, Sunil Sharma, Distt. Sports Officer, Ashok Behal, Secretary, Red Cross, Harkiran Kaur, Principal, Dr.Satinder Singh, Ravinder Singh and members of Paddlers Club, students, teachers and local citizens.
