Sukhbir S Badal launches 100 days 100 constituencies party Yatra
Zira, August 18 – Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today launched the 100 days 100 constituencies party programme from this assembly seat by assuring Punjabis that the SAD would implement the 13 point programme announced by it in the same manner in which it had implemented earlier commitments made to the people.
“Our credibility is our biggest strength”, said the SAD president while addressing people before the start of a massive motor cycle rally which culminated at Gurdwara Singh Sabha where he addressed his first public meeting. There was a massive outpouring of support for the ‘yatra’ across the constituency with youth accompanying the SAD President in large numbers. He also received a massive response in villages where farmers complained that no new irrigation channels had been taken up for construction during Congress tenure.
The SAD President, who addressed twelve public gatherings during his marathon tour of the constituency, said the SAD was committed to implementing the 13 point programme in the same manner in which it had implemented promises made to the people including extension of the free power facility to farmers and making the State power surplus.
Mr Sukhbir Badal said the SAD- BSP alliance was committed to giving relief to farmers and had decided to make diesel cheaper by Rs 10 per litre for agricultural purposes. He said similarly to give relief to all households it had been decided to give an aid of Rs 2,000 per month to woman heads of families of all blue card holders. “We will also give free power amounting to 400 units per month to all domestic consumers”. He also announced that there would be 33 per cent reservation for rural students in professional colleges and that the government would pay their fee. “ Students can also avail Rs 10 lakh student loan for which the government would offer a guarantee and also the interest”. He also announced that 75 per cent jobs would be reserved for Punjabis in the industrial sector.
Speaking about the Congress and AAP parties, Mr Badal said both had befooled people with false paths. “Capt Amarinder took a false oath in the name of the holy Gutka Sahab to promise a complete Rs 90,000 crore loan waiver, jobs for each household and eradication of drugs”. He said AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal had taken a false oath in the name of his children that he would not have any truck with the Congress. “Even AAP Convener Bhagwant Mann swore on his mother to abstain from consuming liquor but did not honour the oath”.
Mr Badal also interacted with the people at Makhu and Fatehgarh Sabra and addressed public gatherings there. People approached him to complain about the steep increase in extortions and even targeted killings besides the sand and liquor mafias being run by Congress legislator Kulbir Singh Zira. Mr Badal said it was condemnable that these elements, who had been patronised by the chief minister earlier, now had a new benefactor in new Pradesh Congress President Navjot Sidhu.
Mr Badal also held a meeting with doctors, chartered accountants, lawyers and businessmen besides the BSP cadre in the town. He assured them that the SAD would address all their concerns and took their feedback on what the next SAD- BSP government should do to resolve all their pending issues.
Mr Badal also called on Baba Chhinder Singh of Gurdwara Sham Singh Attariwala at Fatehgarh Sabran. He was accompanied by former minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon & BSP State secretary Sukhdev Singh sheera. EOM
