SSA Non-Teaching Staff  Union to hold State Level Rally on August 13

SSA ON PEN DOWN STRIKE SSA on pen down strike

Ferozepur, August 6, 2016: On Friday, the contract-based non-teaching employees recruited under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) observed a pen down strike and sit on dharna in front of DGSE office at Chandigarh.

Rajinder Sandha, Press Secretary,  SSA, RMSA Non-Teaching Employees Union, Punjab, claimed that all employees working in government schools of the state had observed the strike against the state government to protest the non-fulfillment of their long-pending demand of the regularisation of services.

Sandha  said that the state government had been dilly-dallying for the past 12 years in this matter. He said all assurances given by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema to regularize their services have proved to be hollow and no notification to merge teachers in the Education Department has been issued so far.

The employees warned that if the government did not accept their demand in the Cabinet meeting on August 10, they would hold a state-level rally on August 13.
