There is a fear of demise of Indian culture and modernization and westernization as the villains despite the fact that religion is a very important part of Indian society.  Therefore, a film like Mohalla Assi is a satire on religion based in Varanasi and difficult to be digested by many.

On this occasion, Kewal Krishan and Kamal Kalia President said, there is a need to put a ban on the film as the dialogues used in the picture are totally absurd.  They will not tolerate the abusive language by the hero of the film shown in the trailer of the film released besides opening a front against those who have given permission for the screening of the film.

Demanding a complete ban on the film in any part of the country, he said, this will avoid any untoward incident with the release of the film.  He warned to the Punjab Chief Minister to own the responsibility of any consequences if the film is allowed to be released in Punjab.
