Sky’s limit of joy on Basant in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, February 17, 2021:  Like previous years, on Monday,  this year too, the sky is the limit of joy on Basant in Ferozepur.

On this day, the entire city was dipped in the colours of Basant Panchami – the fifth day of spring, which is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati and kite flying was celebrated with all tradition.

This time, in this border town, the kites of all colours and sizes especially with farmers slogan dominated the sky.  Not only the boys, even the enjoyed the passion of flying kites and multi-coloured balloons, followed by ‘Chandol’ after the sun-set.

DJ music systems were playing almost installed on every roof of the house but were short supply in the city as the same are booked well in advance.  Boys and girls were seen dancing to the tunes of Punjabi and Hindi songs.

Most of the families posted or settled outside were seen Ferozepur who had secured advance leave of absence from job to enjoy the Basant at home town, said Krishan Lal Sachdev who deals in real estate at Mani Majra and had come with his son Sunny.

Ferozepur Basant has its own charm since our childhood, said a veteran of kite flying –  Subhash Bajaj along with Asha, Jatinder Sikri, Anita, Shivani, Rajiv.

Special dishes are prepared by the better-halves with addition of sweet yellow rice item.
