Seizure of mobile from gangster lodged in jail puts prison authorities in a fix
Ferozepur, April 12, 2020: With the seizure of mobile phones from inmates at Ferozepur jail goes unabated; it has raised questions over the functioning of the prison administration.
Recovery of mobiles from inside the jail keeps on going without stopping and this is the third recovery of mobiles during the last week from inmates and barracks. But this time it has been recovered from gangster prisoner Gurjinder Singh alias Ginda.
As per the crime report released official, the mobile of Oppo brand with battery and SIM card was recovered during the search operation on April 10. No more details have been revealed by the jail authorities.
A case on the complaint of Jarnail Singh, Assistant Superintendent has been registered under Section 52-A Prisons Act. An IO Sharma Singh has been appointed to investigate into the case.
It still remains a mystery as to how the mobiles are smuggled in despite tight security and in such scenario; the connivance of any staff cannot be ruled out. It also posed a security threat when hardcore gangsters and criminals have been lodged in this jail and security arrangements need to be intensified.
