Security threat to jail with recover of mobile and SIMs from gangster prisoner
Ferozepur, July 9, 2020: During the search operation, one mobile of Redmi brand touch screen along with two SIMs has been recovered from Gangster prisoner Sukhchain Singh lodged in Central Jail Ferozepur.
Jail had been in headlines in the past also for recovery of mobiles and other banned items from inside the jail despite strict vigil putting a question mark on the security arrangements. Mobile is one of the most wanted banned item inside the jail for inmates to remain in contact with their associates, by the criminals. Recently, a video of dancing of inmates inside the jail, was made viral on social media and two bikers had thrown a mobiles and other material wrapped in a red bag from outside over the jail walls. With the passage of time, the jail campus is surrounded by high rising building which too posed a threat to the security of the jail.
On the complaint of Sawan Singh, Assistant Superintendent, a case against the inmate has been registered under Section 52-A Prisons Act and 420 of IPC with appointment of Sharma Singh IO.
