Security threat to Central Jail in Ferozepur with recovery of Mobile and SIM

Ferozepur, January 2, 2017 : With the recovery of one mobile phone from the Central Jail, as per crime report released today, the security threat once again has been posed of high profile prison which houses more than 1600 inmates including notorious criminals and gangsters.

As per the information, a mobile along with battery and a SIM of Idea has been recovered from Balkar Singh son of Suchha Singh in Central Jail, Ferozepur.  A case has been registered under 52-A Prisons Act on the complaint of Asstt. Supdt. Central Jail under No.1800 dated 14.5.2017.

No more details were available.  However, the investigation was on.

It is pertinent to mention that in the past also, there have been recoveries of mobiles and SIMs and might be used by the criminals to keep going on their activities while in jail.

The connivance of the checking staff cannot be ruled out for reaching the mobiles inside the jails which needs to be plugged from security point of view.
