SBS Technical Campus employees to observe ‘Black Diwali’ for non-payment of wages, submit memorandum to DC
Ferozepur, November 13, 2020: Members of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Ferozepur, Gurpal Singh Chahal on Friday and urged him to take urgent steps to address their issue of non-payment of salary from the last three months.
JAC members informed DC Ferozepur that they are observing ‘Black Diwali’ over salary demands. The festival did not light up the lives of the employee’s families this year with wages not being paid since July 2020. More than 200 teachers and other employees of this Government Engineering Institute have not received their salaries in the past three months. They also informed Deputy Commissioner that from Monday onwards their protest will intensify against government.
Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur ensured the faculty and staff members of the institute that they will take up this matter with Principal Secretary Technical Education on priority. Dr Sanjeev Dewra, Dr Amit Arora, Munish Kumar, Parminder Pal Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Chetan Batra along with others were present during the submission of memorandum.
