SBS Tech Campus organizes seminar on Employment Generation to Rural Youth
50 Sarpanch participated in the Seminar
Ferozepur, May 20, 2016 : A Seminar on “Employment Generation to Rural Youth by Skill Development Courses” was organized by Polytechnic Wing of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur. In this Seminar approximately 50 Village Heads “Sarpanch’s” of nearby region participated with great enthusiasm. The Seminar was delivered by Professor Gurjeevan Singh, Head Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of Polytechnic Wing.
During the interaction session information on Short Term Courses and Skill Development Courses offered by this Technical Campus under Skill Development Initiative Scheme of Government of India was shared with village Heads.
During the Power Point Presentation (PPP), the Village Sarpanch’s were shown slides of College Infrastructure, Laboratories, Academic Areas, Hostel and Mess Facility, Co-Curricular and Extra Curricular Activities, Sports Facilities, Market Complex comprising Restaurant, Fruit Shop, Bank, Post Office, ATM, Beauty Parlour, etc. The Village Sarpanch’s were also provided information of various courses being run by College under four Wings, namely, Engineering Wing, Polytechnic Wing, Management Wing and School Wing. They were also provided information of various facilities offered by college for students from economically weaker section. The College provided free education to SC students under SC ST Post Matric Scholarship Scheme. Five percent students are reserved for economically weaker section (students having Annual Family Income less than 6 lacs). Meritorious Students from economically weaker section are helped by providing them aid under Student Aid Fund.
In the end Prof Gazal Preet Singh, Principal Polytechnic Wing thanked all the Village Sarpanch’s who have participated in this Seminar and assured them all possible in future for enhancing the employment opportunities to Rural Youth.
