SAD(A) to oppose work of Patwari in private hands, sit on dharna on Oct. 8

Ferozepur, October 1, 2019:  Highlighting the work of Patwaris in private hands and unnecessary harassing the public, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) – SAD(A) – has come forward in support of affected people, who have not been able to get the ‘intkal’ of the registered landed property and threatened to sit on dharna on October 8, in front of the DC Office. 

Gurcharan Singh Bhullar, District President, SAD(A), Ferozepur Unit shared his views while holding a press conference in Press Club, Ferozepur.  The other present were Tejinder Singh Deol, Youth President, Jatinder Singh Thind, General Secretary Youth, Manmit Singh, Gurwinder Singh and others.

Bhullar pointed out that the majority of the work of the patwaris is being looked after by the privately engaged persons, who charge hefty unofficial fees and a shared number of cases who were suffering in the hands of these persons.

He specifically pointed out the patwari charge of Satiye Wala in the hands of the son of Baljit Singh patwari and private persons. Moreover, they are not updating the data intentionally

Panchayats of the area had already complained to the Deputy Commissioner and orders were issued to hand over the charge to Sukhdev Singh patwari but just after nine days, he was again the additional charge.  However, an inquiry against the patwari has been ordered separately, said Bhullar.

Giving a week’s time to the district administration, Bhullar said, to withdraw the charge of Patwari Baljit Singh, who has been given the additional charge, failing we will sit on dharna on October 8, in front of the DC Office to expose the working style of patwaris.

Deputy Commissioner said, the inquiry has been marked to SDM within 30 days to investigate in this case in-depth and submit his report and further action will be taken accordingly.
