Rs.14.16 cr drug smugglers Illegal properties in 30 cases freezed in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, December 8, 2023: In 30 cases, the illegal properties of drug smugglers booked under the NDPS Act valuing Rs.14,16,66,802 were frozen in the district, said Deepak Hillori, SSP Ferozepur adding that now these illegal properties cannot be sold or transferred to anyone till further orders from the Competent Authority.
In the recent freezing order, the property of Rs.13,20,000 of Virka alias Vicy of village Khilchian Jadid under Sadar police station was frozen under the NDPS Act.
SSP said every effort is being made to put a complete check on the illegal trade of banned intoxicant substances, by forming teams of gazetted officers (GOs) who are keeping a cat-eye on the unscrupulous persons in the district, under the tutelage of Randhir Kumar, SP(D). He said Virk alias Vicky was booked on recovery of 1.500 gm heroin and a case was registered under the NDPS Act on September 6, 2021. Now his illegal property of a residential house over 1200 sq ft in village Khilchian valuing Rs.13,20,000 has been frozen as orders of the Competent Authority and orders to this effect were pasted outside the house by the concerned DSP City and SHO. He also said, Vicky is involved in three cases under the NDPS Act in 2018, 2020 and 2021.
SSP Said, one more case of freezing the property is pending with the Competent Authority and we are working on ten more cases of drug smugglers getting their properties frozen.
