Railways take extra care of its frontline crew warriors on goods train
Ferozepur, April 22, 2020: Due to the global epidemic, the whole world the upside is down including the Life Line of India – Railways – and there is a halt on passenger traffic all over the country but operating goods trains and parcel special trains to provide the supply of essential and daily use materials said DRM Ferozepur Rajesh Aggarwal.
DRM said, the Ferozepur division is a major division of Indian Railways and most of its area is in Punjab, which is the leading state in grain production. Loco pilots and guards play an important role in running goods trains and parcel special trains in this hour of crisis. When people stay at homes during the lockdown, these frontline warriors have to be on tracks away from their families to different places during duty.
He said the Ferozepur division is fully aware of the safety and health of these warriors. Complete sanitization of each crew, guard lobby, and running room of the division is done two to three times daily. The Railway Administration has provided personal safety kit to all loco pilots, guards, running room employees, and lobby employees. This kit contains hand sanitizer, gloves, mask, dettol soap, etc. and the same is now provided every week.
DRM further said that while attending the workplace, the thermal scanning of each running staff is taken and their health information is obtained. However, the breath analyzer test of running staff has been discontinued at the present time due to COVID-19.
