Railways staff took ‘Sadbhavana Pledge” on “Sadbhavna Diwas” to promote goodwill among people
Ferozepur, August 19, 2016: The railway staff of Divisional Rail Manager office observed August 20,2016 – the birth anniversary of late Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi – as Sadhbhavana Divas by taking Sadbhavana Pledge as under :
“I take this solemn pledge that I will work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India regardless of caste, region, religion or language. I further pledge that I shall resolve all differences among us through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence”.
On this occasion, Ashok Arora, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer, DRM Office said, “The theme of Sadhbhavna is to promote national integration and communal harmony among people of all religions, languages and regions. The idea behind observance of this day is to eschew violence and to promote goodwill among the people”.
This year, the 20th August is falling on Saturday which is closed holiday from Central Government Offices, therefore, this year, the Sadbhavana Diwas was observed today over a simple but impressive ceremony, he added.
