Railways earn Rs.1.20 lac as fine money from 214 ticketless passengersFerozepur, February 13, 2020:  Under the tutelage of senior officers, the railway has earned Rs.1,20,240 from 214 ticketless passengers, under the special checking campaign by 18 teams.

The aim of the special checking on February 12 was to bring improvement in the sale of tickets and to recover the fine amount from the ticketless passengers.

The checking was conducted by the teams between Amritsar-Ludhiana-Ambala-Jalandhar-Amritsar-Ludhiana sections of train No.s12204, 18101, 12925, 18238, 13050.

During the checking, it came on the fore that some passengers were travelling without a ticket with the connivance of GRP Escorting party.  However, the fine amount was recovered from them.  In the meantime, a report to this effect is also being sent to the concerned authorities for taking suitable departmental action, said a railway official.

Vivek Sharma, Sr.DCM informed that travelling without a ticket is a crime and appealed to the passengers to travel in the train with valid tickets.  However, this special programme will be a continuous process.  He also appealed to the passengers to use UTS On Mobile App to ATVM to get tickets to save time and money.
