Railway installs Automatic Vending Machines at the Railway Stations for convenience of passengers

Ferozepur, November 16, 2015: With a view to provide better services to the railway passengers, the Feroozepur Rail Division has installed 14 Automatic Vending Machines at Jammu Tavi, Amritsar and Ludhiana.

Giving this information, Anuj Parkash, Divisional Rail Manager informed that 14 AVMs have been installed – 4 each at Jammu Tavi and Amritsar and 6 at Ludhiana.

He said, with the installation of AVMs, the passengers will not now have to stand in queues for getting unreserved tickets.

Giving more information, Roshan Singh, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager said, the unconcessional and unreserved tickets can be had from any railway stations through  these machines.  The AVM can be operated by inserting currency notes, coins or the special smart card issued by the railways and coins of
Rs.5, Rs.10 and notes of Rs.5 to Rs.1000 of Gandhi series.

The railway platform can also be had from these Automatic Vending Machines.

The tickets issued by the AVMs are available in two languages and kept under Chief Booking Clerks, he added.

DRM said, “Initially the AVMs have been installed at Jammu-Tavi, Amritsar and Ludhiana but in the coming days, these will also be installed at other stations in the division.
