Police officer adds another feather to his cap, honoured with DGP Disc Award for third time
Ferozepur, Augusut 6, 2021: Des Raj Kamboj, a Punjab Police official of the rank of Superintendent Police (SP), has added another feather to his cap after winning the DGP Disc Award for third time in his career spanning near about four decades for his outstanding and exceptional performance in his duties
in different capacities while serving in different districts of Punjab. This time ,he has been awarded DGP Disc award by Mr. Dinkar Gupta Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab Police.
Des Raj, who rose to the rank of Superintendent Police (SP), after he got himself recruited as constable in 1982, has already been bestowed upon with President Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2010 for
his devotion towards his duty and commendable work.
Des Raj, who stood all round first in his training batch and cleared his all the departmental exams from time to time, got promotion to the rank of Superintendent of Police in 2013, was given DGP Disc Award in
the year 2014 and 2015 for his good works on all front, undisputed integrity, honesty, diligence and outstanding policing achievements.
Des Raj Kamboj, who is presently servinjg as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Counter Intelligence (CI) Bathinda with additional charge AIG (Intelligence), Ferozepore, has managed to put his name in the list of those Punjab police functionaries, who have managed to make such rare achievements. He served in Districts like Jalandhar,Sangrur, Faridkot, Shri Muktsar Sahib, Patiala, Shri Amritsar Sahib (Rural) and
Bathinda in the past 39 years of his service.
With this achievement, Des Raj has also brought laurels to his native village Ghulla falling in Ferozepore district.
After getting this honour, he said that he would put his best to serve the Punjab Police in excellent manner in different capacities.
