Police nab 11 drug accused and 5 proclaimed offenders in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, September 8, 2023: Amidst the ongoing drive against anti-social elements launched in the state, the Ferozepur police claimed to have arrested 11 persons with recovery of heroin, 30 illegal liquor bottles, habit forming drugs, intoxicant powder, motorcycle, car, mobile phone, computer balance and drug money, and five proclaimed offenders (POs)in its drive against the anti-social elements and unscrupulous and suspected persons.

Divulging with details, SSP Deepak Hillori said, every effort is being made to snub the drug activities in the district and in this context, special teams of the gazetted officers (GOs) have been formed, who are actively taking action in the whole of the district.

He said, in the areas of Ferozepur Sadar, Mamdot, Kulgarhi, City, Zira and Lakho Ke Behram police station areas, the police got a success with the arrest of 11 accused with recovery of 233 gm heroin, 30 illegal liquor bottles, 350 habit forming drugs, 200 gm intoxicant powder, one motorcycle, one car, one mobile, two computer balance and Rs13,500 as drug money.

SSP said, the situation of drug trafficking and drug addicts in the district is worrying. Strict and transparent police actions against drug peddlers will continue by adopting the zero tolerance policy to thwart every attempt of the drug mafia to dent the youths of the country.
