Police bust looters’ gang in Ferozepur, arrest 4 accused

Ferozepur, February 10, 2020:  Taking inspiration from the  Fast and Furious style gang who took away the locked safe containing cash of the bank, was finally caught its four members by the Ferozepur Police

The Ferozepur Police busted a gang of bank safe looters, with the arrest of four persons and recovery of locked safe, i-20 vehicles used and one motorcycle without registration number, taking inspiration from the ‘Fast and Furious’ movie by stealing the safe of the bank containing cash.

Divulging with the details to the media persons in the Press Conference, Bhupinder Singh, SSP Ferozepur said, “A tip-off was received on February 6 that some unidentified persons have taken away the safe of the bank, containing cash by breaking opening the shutter”.

The police team of Ajay Raj Singh, SP(I), Baljit Singh SP(O), Karnsher Singh, DSP(City) and Rajwinder Singh, DSP Zira, Jatinder Singh, Inspector,Mallanwala, Kor Singh, SI working swiftly and technically through the secret sources, arrested four gang members – Shindu of Faridewala, Kamaldeep Singh alias Nikka of Faridewala, Luvpreet alias Labhu of Ratta Khera – were arrested from Grain Market Bharan. However, five members identified as Jagsir Singh, Luvpreet Singh, Harnek Singh, Bhawant Singh and Lupreet Singh of Mallanwala are absconding, who too, will be nabbed shortly, said SSP, appreciating his team members.

He said, our technical investigation revealed that normally a recee is conducted by the accused before the practical exercise. Amandeep is a kingpin in this looting incident who was working sometime back in the back, proving the popular idiom – Ghar Ka Bhedi Lanka Dhaye –  An insider does the maximum damage.

During the preliminary interrogation, the gang members have admitted that Amandeep Singh, Kamaljeet Singh, Lupreet alias Labhu Harnek Singh and Gurjit Singh jointly had also broken the ATM of Punjab and Sind Bank near Satiya Wala on Jan. 23 and stealing of Rs.22,000 cash from cloth shop in Mallanwal area on Feb 1, besides taking along with unstitched clothes.

To bring more facts on the surface, we will take the remand of the arrested accused for further investigation, said SSP.

He said, I have recently joined Ferozepur and will try to make Ferozepur a drug-free city and bring down the crime graph.
