PEDA ensures Energy Efficient Buildings with 30-40% reduction in electrical demands
Ferozepur, August 30, 2019: Two-days Training Program on Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC)-2017 has been organized at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur on 29th & 30th buildings having connected load of 100 KW or greater or a contract demand of 120 KVA.
For the effective implementation of ECBC, Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) with the support of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) initiated the capacity building training programs which are being organized through ELA green building & infrastructure of Architecture and Town Planning, Improvement Trusts, Builders, Developers etc. Dr. T. S. Sidhu, Director, SBBSTC, Ferozepur was the chief guest of the program and emphasized on the smooth implementation of the ECBC which will ensure construction of energy efficient buildings resulting reduction in electrical demand by 30-40% in the buildings.
Tripatjit Singh, Assistant Manager, PEDA was the guest of honour at the program. He talked about the need of energy conservation in buildings and focused that every individual shall be responsible enough to save energy at individual level then only the schemes of the government will be effective.
Harinder pal Singh, Principal Polytechnic Wing, Bohar Singh, Dean Consultancy, Sh. Gurpreet Singh, Head, Dept. of Civil Engineering, SBSSTC & other faculty members were also present at the program. Sh. Neeraj Sharma from ELA green buildings & infrastructure consultants talked about the compliance procedure of ECBC and mentioned that this code is mandatory to compile for all the commercial buildings while approval of building plans.
This training program has been attended by officials from government departments, architects, builders, hotel faculty staff, institutions from Ferozepur and nearby. The objective of such training programs is to create ECBC design professionals in the state of Punjab.
