PCMSA thanks, Punjab Govt for full pay to doctors during probation
Ferozepur, March 20, 2018: PCMS Association Punjab hails the decision of the Punjab cabinet to accept the long-standing demand of PCMSA to give full pay to MBBS doctors during their probation period.
It is pertinent to mention here that PCMSA was the first body of Government employees amongst the various associations representing different departments, to raise the issue of Basic pay for newly recruited employees during its State-level convention held in Moga on September 20th, 2015.
During the stir, the association organized different protests in the form of Historic State level dharna on May 3rd, 2016, a march and a human chain formation at Jalandhar and Ludhiana respectively. At various times meetings were held between PCMSA and Health Minister, Finance Minister, senior officials of the government to press for implementation of full pay from the date of joining in service.
The association thanks the honourable Chief Minister Capt. Amrinder Singh for accepting the demand and appreciates the special efforts put in by Health Minister Shri Brahm Mohindra in this regard as he fully understood the gravity of the issue and the need to restore the dignity of the doctors. In a press note, Dr Manjit Singh (Patron) ,Dr. Gagandeep Singh (State president) , Dr.Gagandeep Shergill (Senior vice president) , Dr.Indervir Gill (Organizing secretary), Dr.Manohar Singh, Dr.Madan Mohan, Dr.Harpal Sran , Dr.Harish, Dr. Chander Shekhar (Vice presidents), Dr.Harpreet Randhawa , Dr.Sharin Dhiman (Jt. Secs.), Dr. Jatinder Pannu Dr. Sanjeev Arora and Dr. Harpreet Sekhon thanked the PCMS cadre and all the district units for their active participation and support.
On this occasion the association urges the Government to accept the remaining demands also including additional increments to specialist doctors, NPA during post graduation so as to curtail the dropout rate amongst in-service doctors.
