Pak drug smugglers switched over to small packing, reveals AIG CI
Ferozepur, March 21, 2018: With the arrest of three drug peddlers in a joint operation by BSF and Counter Intelligence and recovery of a small quantity of 630 gm, it has been revealed that the Pak drug smugglers have switched over to small pickings’ as per requirement of the drug peddlers on the Indian side, said Narinderpal Singh Sidhu, Assistant Inspector General (Counter Intelligence) while addressing the media persons in a press conference held today.
Sidhu said, three drug peddlers arrested drug peddlers during a joint operation of BSF 29 Bn and CI team of SI Rajwant Singh, aFzilka, Tarlochan Singh, Jatinderjit Singh – are Raj Singh alias Raju of Fattewala Hittar,Manjit Singh alias Baggi and Shingar Singh of Habib Wala under Mamdot police along with Mahindra tractor No.PB-05A-1498 station while two namely Jaswant Singh alias Jass of Fattewala Hittar and Sona Singh of Habib Wala are absconding. With this, the Counter Intelligence has got the success in cracking another chain of drug peddlers.
He further disclosed that on the disclosure of the spot, 14 packets of 45 gm each weighing 630 grams heroin was recovered from the bunch of plants near the hut across the fencing wire Gate No.195/M under DT Mall BOP, which used to be earlier in 1 kg packing.
Further investigation from the arrested persons is still on and more clues are likely to come on the surface.
On asking about the small packing, Sidhu said this is the first time that small packing smuggling has been switched over. During the preliminary investigation, it has been revealed that it is as per the demand of the drug peddlers on the Indian side who further sell it. Such messages are exchanged on WhatApp in coded words. The suppliers at the receiving end talk only when there is no net work to communicate about the packing and supply time. It is sold to common users even at the rate of Rs.7,000 per gram.
Divulging with further details about the modus operandi, Sidhu said, the heroin is supplied in triple layer packing of polythene, balloons and tape and small packs are hidden in the diesel tanks of the tractors, conveniently transported dodging the BSF cops.
AIG CI said, shortly the remaining two absconding peddlers will be arrested.
