One more test positive, taking Ferozepur district’s Covid-19 count to 40

Ferozepur, May 6, 2020:  One more positive case has been reported in the district as sample of one the of the pilgrims who has returned from Naded Sahib was tested positive. Now the total active cases in the district are 40.

Earlier, one corona positive – gunman attached with ACP Ludhiana of village Wada Bhai Ka – was discharged after two times tested negative.

Only one death was reported of the patient referred from Ferozepur to Faridkot Medical College, who has multiple problems but later tested positive. The last rites were too performed in the present of health officials as per the government instructions.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Kulwant Singh has appealed to the citizens to remain at home and come out only in case of emergency by following the protocols of wearing masks and social distancing adding that fight against corona is not over and we have to face this challenge by following the instructions from the district administration from time to time.

There is no transmission history in the district, the positive cases has been reported only from the persons who had come from other states – Maharashtra and Rajasthan including the students from Kota.  All these have been kept under quarantine at the different designated places.

Three quarantine centres have been set up in Ferozepur – SBS Tech Campus, Ferozepur, Radha Swami Dera at Lalley near Talwandi Bhai and NavodhyaVidayala Zira where 447 people reached from other states have been kept under quarantine as per the medical protocols for taking samples for testing.

All adequate stay arrangements have been made at these centres to avoid any inconvenience under the supervision of Nodel Officer to monitor them besides health department taking samples for testing.
