One booked under IT Act for inflammatory social media post

Ferozepur, June 14, 2018:  The Ferozepur police have booked one person identified as Surinder Chawla son of Sohan Lal of Mudki near Ferozepur under 506 IPC and 66, Information Technology Act 2000 and registered a case at Ghall Khurd Police station.

The case has been registered on the state of Kulwant Rai son of Brij Lal of Mudki.  He has alleged that the alleged accused Surinder Chawla had been threatening him by posting the messages on social media – Facebook. He further stated that on June 8, Surinder Chawla also threatened by making a call to him that he – Kulwant Rai – is asking the PWD department for cancellation of NOC of his petrol pump.

No arrest has been made in this case. However, Ranjit Singh, IO is investigating to the matter for taking further action.
