Decision on opening of shops in non-containment zones of district would be taken on April 30 evening

Ferozepur, April 29, 2020: Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Kulwant Singh categorically said that there would be no relaxation in curfew within Ferozepur district on April 30 and the final call on this issue would be taken tomorrow (April 30) evening.

DC, Commissioner on today evening said that the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had announced to give relaxation in the curfew norms in the non red zone/ containment zones. The DC said that decision regarding the relaxation in curfew norms in non containment zones would be taken on April 30 after consultation with Health department, other stakeholders and after evolving foolproof security plan.

Kulwant Singh said that he would be holding detailed deliberations regarding the security planning meticulously, so that the announcements by the Chief Minister were implemented in true letter and spirit.

He further said that as of now there was no relaxation of curfew in Ferozepur and fresh orders, if any, would be issued by April 30 evening. The DC said that as per the directions of the Chief Minister curfew has been extended in the district by two weeks.

Kulwant Singh further said that people should exercise self restraint and desist from coming out of their houses in the curfew adding he said that no one should take law in their own by flouting the curfew norms else stern action would be taken against them. He said that the curfew has been imposed for the welfare of the people to save them from scourge of Covid 19.
