Ferozepur, March 5, 2020:
Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Mr. Kulwant Singh today categorically said that not even a single case of Coronavirus flu has been detected in the district and urged the people not to get swayed away with the baseless and misleading rumours regarding it.
In a statement issued here today, the Deputy Commissioner urged the residents of the city to not get swayed by the rumours pertaining to Coronavirus as the district administration was fully geared up to tackle this disease. He said that the magnitude of Coronavirus in countries like China, South Koria, Iran, Italy and other countries was too much. However, Mr. Kulwant Singh said that till now not even a single case of the flue has been detected in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the symptoms of this flu were like any other ordinary flu so it was quite difficult to differentiate it from the other ones. However, he said that there was no need to get panic from this flu and simple precautions could help in avoiding it. Mr. Kulwant Singh said that elaborate steps have been taken to check the spread of this flu by the district administration for which the role of each and every department has been clearly defined.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the people with travel history of the flu-infected countries were being thoroughly examined on reaching in the country and the state as a precaution. Mr. Kulwant Singh said that the incubation period of this flu was a fortnight as its symptoms were visible after 15 days, so utmost care needs to be taken while tackling this. He said that directions have been already issued to all the departments for making concerted efforts to keep a check on this flu along with guiding the people about it. “With the joint effort of all the stakeholders this war against coronavirus will be won” he added.
The Deputy Commissioner said that as a precaution of this flu, people should maintain one-metre distance from another, avoid visiting congested places, wash hands or use sanitizers besides others. He said that besides forming Rapid Response Teams the health department has also set up Special Isolation Center for patients, if any, adding that till now not even a a single case of the flu has been reported in the district.
