NGOs Coordination Society organizes programme under SVEEP to create awareness for voting by PWD
Ferozepur, January 17, 2017: To empower the citizens to ethically vote in the upcoming elections after registration of vote to give a powerful democracy and nation and no voter is be left behind, a programme was organized today under SVEEP – Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation – at Baghbaan to create awareness for voting by Persons With Disability (PWD).
Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, DEO-cum-Deputy Commissioner presided over the function as Chief Guest.
Addressing the disabled and visually impaired persons, Dhaliwal said the vote is the biggest tool in democracy and we get an opportunity to make use of it after every five years. He said, we should not avoid from using this democratic right rather we should cast our vote by visiting the voting centre to the candidate of our choice.
On this occasion, the members of NGOs, physically challenged persons and visually impaired to an oath to cast vote and started signature campaign.
