New Hi-tech vehicles arrive in Ferozepur to enhance efficiency of police
Ferozepur, March 2, 2024: To upscale the efficiency of the Punjab Police to maintain law and order, the Ferozepur police today had a Flag March of new Hi-tech vehicles, under the tutelage of SSP Ferozepur Soumya Mishra.
It has happened for the first time in the history of the Punjab Police that Rs.150 crore rupees have been spent on the purchase of vehicles in a single financial year. In the first phase, 508 vehicles are being purchased at a cost of Rs.94.15 crore. Around 1200 vehicles have also been scrapped on completing 15-year life. In the second phase, 851 vehicles will be purchased in FY 2024–25 for Rs 75.42 crore. Apart from this, 426 crore rupees are being spent to modernize the Punjab Police and strengthen the infrastructure of the Police force.
Apart from this, strengthening the structure of police counter-intelligence, and cyber-crime structure is also on cards which will strengthen the internal security arrangements and also curb the increasing number of cybercrime cases over time.
SSP said, that the arrival of the Hi-tech vehicles – 3 Kia, 14 Scorpio, and One Tata Tiago EV (electric vehicle) including the vehicle to Police Mahila Mittar – will help to enhance the efficiency of the Ferozepur police and increase the promptness and mobility of the police stations and the response time of the police will be improved.
