Mock security drive held to check alertness of jail staff at Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 1, 2023: In order to strengthen the security jails and check the alertness of security staff deployed inside and outside the jail, mock security drill was conducted in Central Jail Ferozepur on Monday by pressing the emergency alarm, as per the orders of Additional Director General of Police (Jails) in association with the security agencies with participation of 150 officials.
The mock security drill was supervised by Gurnam Lal, Superintendent, Central Jail, Ferozepur in sync with the various agencies of district such as Punjab Police, Medical Administration, Fire Brigade Unit of District Administration.
Giving information in this regard, Jail Superintendent Gurnam Lal said that the main purpose of this mock security drill is to prevent any untoward incident like jailbreak, riot, fire emergency, medical emergency etc. It is to be prepared in advance and take action to control the situation properly if something like this happens.
He said such exercises would be carried out in future as well to keep security arrangements in place and to keep the security staff’s alertness. This exercise also keeps the jail inmates under fear, he added.
It is also pertinent to mention that there had been recovery of five mobiles ahead of this mock drill during the routine search operation. As per the information, nothing objectionable was recovered.
Manjeet Singh, SP(HQ), Kulwant Singh, DSP Gr-1 (Prison HQ), Surinder Pal Bansal, DSP City, Harpreet Singh Add. Supdt. (Jail) and around 150 jail, police and district administration personnel participated in the security drill and completed the drill successfully.
