Mobiles seized from under trial prisoner in Ferozepur jail
Ferozepur, May 10, 2022: During the surprise checking in the jail, two mobiles were recovered from the inmate. Frequent recoveries of mobiles and other banned items have exposed the security arrangements and the purpose of keeping the criminals away from society as punishment is also lost.
During last year, around 300 mobiles and other banned items were found and during the current year, within four months period, more 150 have been recovered.
Sometimes, the packets are also thrown from the back of jail compound as the jail is surrounded by a huge open space on two sides and one side with high rising buildings. Hence it is difficult to ascertain as to who had thrown the packet as they disappear after throwing.
