MGSIPA organizes Capacity Building Training Programme for School Teachers on "Drug Abuse Prevention" at Ferozepur
Ferozepur November 26th, 2019: Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration(MGSIPA) Punjab today organized two days Capacity building training programme for school teachers on "Drug Abuse Prevention". This programme has been sponsored by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Government of India New Delhi. Over 50 teachers including Principals and Headmasters from different parts of Bathinda district joined the programme.
Jarnail Singh, MGSIPA Regional Project Director Bathinda while interacting with the teachers exhorted them to launch a crusade against drug abuse and take it as a mission to constantly educate the children to be away from any kind of drugs, alcohol etc during their lifetime.
He said that teachers have a great role in moulding the attitudes and mindset of the children after parents. He said that they must monitor the habits and attitudes of children on a daily basis in their classrooms and motivate them to be good citizens of the society. He mentioned that Punjab has a glorious heritage studded with values of Life and that precious legacy must be carried forward to the new generation and youth of the state.
Jarnail Singh further said that MGSIPA has undertaken a series of Buddy training programmes in all districts of Punjab to generate awareness about drugs abuse prevention for different catagories of society.
These Programmes have been thoughtfully conceived by KBS Sidhu Special Chief Secretary Cum Director General and Mrs. Jaspreet Talwar Director MGSIPA.He said that after organising training programmes of Police functionaries and Panchayati Raj Institutions, the school teachers are being sensitized about the ill effects of drugs through these capacity building programmes. He said that during this programme, the experts including Jagjit Singh Dy DEO Ferozepur and Manish Banga Vice Principal D.C.M School Ferozepur took academic sessions on this subject of this immense societal importance.
Mandeep Singh Coordinator Regional Centre Bathinda highlighted the objectives of this programme. The senior district education officers also attended the sessions.
