Ferozepur, April 27, 2020:  To show solidarity with the campaign ‘Mein Bhi Harjeet Singh’ on a call given by DGP Dinkar Gupta, today Bhupinder Singh SSP Ferozepur also replaced his name on a badge with Harjeet Singh.

SSP Bhupinder Singh said, I feel proud that today DC Ferozepur Kulwant Singh and Dr.Navdeep Singh Civil Surgeon has also joined us in this campaign.

Today I feel proud to be replacing the name on my badge as Harjeet Singh.  Harjeet Singh has set an example as, despite injured, he did not lose his hope. His sacrifice is an inspiration for all the police and health officials o show courage in the face of fire, said SSP adding reciting – Mein Vi Han Harjeet Singh.

Various local citizens also joined in this solidarity against any attack on the policemen like on SI Harjeet Singh, who are fighting for Covid-19 threat across the country.

All were seen holding the placard – Mein Bhi Harjeet Singh in the city – as a symbol and tribute to all the unsung warriors like him. All in a loud voice said – I wear his name with pride on my chest.

Around 80,000 employees of police in the state, today saluted the bravery of Harjeet Singh SI in a unique way – the brainchild of DGP Punjab.

Harjeet Singh is presently admitted in PGI after he was attacked by the Nihangs on April 12 at Patiala on a scuffle over asking curfew passes, chopped off his hand with a sword.  However, later the doctors of PGI had successfully re-attach the hand in the operation lasting seven and a half hours.

After the unfortunate episode of Harjeet’s hand being dismembered, he has emerged as the symbol of the nation’s fight against Covid-19. The battle is being led on the frontline Khakhi and White warriors who have unfortunately been attacked by people in many places across the country.
