Mega Job Fair proves boon for unemployed youths as 2141 gets job in Ferozepur
Ferozepur February 25, 2019: Under ‘Ghar-Ghar Rozgar Yojna’, the Mega Job Fair organized by the State government proved beneficial for 2141 unemployed youths, who got the job during the fair organized at local Shaheed Bhagat Singh Technical Campus, Ferozepur from February 13 and 18-22 February.
Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur Chander Gaind today had a meeting with the officers of various departments to review special initiatives for employment to unemployed youths under ‘Ghar-Ghar Rozgar Yojna’. Amit Gupta, SDM and Harjinder Singh, DDPO were also present.
Deputy Commissioner said, employment of 2141 youths in Mega Job Fair out of the total 2530 youths aspirant turned up for getting the jobs, out of 2141 eligible candidates were selected for the jobs – 1849 for employed and 292 candidates under self-employment schemes – Mudra, DRI who were issued loan sanction letters.
He also said that 187 eligible beneficiaries were extended the opportunity for earning by providing Rs.7.57 crore loan on 25 percent subsidy to general category and 33.33 percent subsidy to SC categories. So far, the subsidy to the tune of Rs.2.44 crore has been credited in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Besides, 301 candidates have been imparted training to start their own earning, he added.
Chander Gaind said the job fairs have provided a platform for the youths to become self-reliant by getting jobs and it was a historic day for the 2141 youths who are starting the new inning in their lives. The district administration would continue such endeavors in the coming times to ensure that maximum numbers of youths were benefitted from it.
On this occasion, Ashok Jindal, District Employment Bureau Officer, Birpartap Singh Gill, Executive Officer Dairy, Gurjant Singh, Satnam Singh, and Hira Singh, Placement Officers and heads over various departments of employees were present.
