Mayank Foundation honours firefighters to celebrate International Firefighters Day
Ferozepur, May 6, 2020: Continuing the felicitation spree to acknowledge the role being played by the professionals of various departments during the times of corona scare, Mayank Foundation, Ferozepur, a social welfare organisation honoured the officials of Punjab Fire Services Ferozepur to celebrate International Firefighters Day at Municipal Committee Office.
International Firefighters’ Day or IFFD is observed annually on May 4 to remember those firefighter’s who have died while serving our community or dedicated their lives to protecting the safety of us all.
Executive Officer Parminder Singh, Senior Fire Officer Iqbal Singh, Leading Field Officers Vijay Kumar, Sukhdev Singh and Gagandeep Singh and Firemen Parminder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Sunny Sharma and Jobanpreet Singh were garlanded by the members of the foundation. Packs of biscuits, cold-drinks and sanitizers were also distributed to the staff of the department.
In his address during the felicitation, Anirudh Gupta, President of the foundation said, “International Firefighters Day holds a great significance in our life. The firemen literally play with fire to save many lives and public and private properties. The risk these people take is immeasurable. As a gesture of thanks, our organisation has come to share our gratitude to the firemen who are always available to render their services even in the tough times of corona.”
Deepak Sharma, Deepak Grover and Vipul Narang expressed their inner happiness to honour the fire personnel and said that firemen are always quick to respond in case of fire incident and they leave no stone unturned to douse the fire that can engulf many buildings in no time. They are among the true saviours of public services.
EO Parminder Singh also thanked the foundation for lending them a thank-giving hand. Vipul Narang, Vikas Gupta, Deepak Gupta, Davinder Nath, Amit Arora , Vipan Kumar and Mithul Bhandari were also present during the occasion.
