Ferozepur, February 28, 2022: To protect children below 5 years of age from polio, a Polio Immunisation round was started with the help of the district administration and health department. Leading NGO Mayank Foundation organized camp with the support of Sunita Rambagula, Principal Dev samaj Model senior secondary school under the guidance of Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajinder Arora, Dr. Meenakshi District Immunization Officer, Secretary Red Cross, DPM Harish Kataria, Jyoti Monga Vaccination Coordinator, Sister Simran & ANM Sangeeta.
As part of the Government of India’s campaign to keep the country polio-free, about 17 crore children under the age of five are administered anti-polio drugs. About 24 lakh volunteers, 1.5 lakh supervisors, WHO, UNICEF and social service organizations are supporting this nationwide campaign. It is the largest vaccination program in the world.
Dr. Raghav Sharma, a member of the Mayank Foundation said that it is very important for children to stay healthy for building a healthy India. I would urge the family members to come forward and give polio drops to the children. Polio drops will be also administered by the health department at Doorstep on March 1.
On this occasion, colorful balls, toffees, and chocolates were distributed to the vaccinated Tiny-Tots by the foundation.
During this camp Members of Mayank Foundation Rakesh Kumar, Advocate Rohit Garg, Subodh Kakar, Vipul Narang, Arninsh Monga, Aseem Agarwal, Deepak Sharma, and volunteers of Dev Samaj Senior Secondary School were present.
