Mat-Pita-Santan Divas celebrated at DSCW Campus
Ferozepur, February 3, 2021: On Wednesday, Mat-Pita-Santan Divas was celebrated at Dev Samaj College for Women – DSCW, Campus with the students expressing gratitude to their parents for their support.
Dr. Agneesh Dhillon, Councilor, Dev Samaj Council, Principal, Dev Samaj College of Education for Women, Chandigarh, Incharge, Dev Samaj Education Department attended as Chief Guest and Manavinder Mangat, Chief Administrative Officer(Dev).
The event began with the singing of bhajan ‘Shraddha Bhajan Maat – Pita Ji…’
Throwing light on the philosophy of Dev Samaj, Dr. Agneesh Dhillon addressed students, teachers and parents gathered at DSCW campus, highlighted the importance of celebrations of today’s event with special reference of 16 relationships mentioned in the ideology of Dev Samaj.
Saying that parents play a great role in shaping the child as they inculcate good values into the tender minds and the greatest respect one can show to one’s parents for the sacrifices they have made, Dr.Agneesh said, parents’ love for their children is always unconditional and the benevolence and sacrifice which the parents do for their children none else can do. At the same time, it is the duty of the children also to honor their parents and follow their footsteps, she added.
Dr. Agneesh also shared her life experiences and recalled her parents’ support. Today also, few students while expressing their sentiments in their choked and emotional voices towards their parents acknowledged their slip-ups with specific references of the incidents and apologized openly before the audience.
As the function came to close students and staff members garlanded their parents to express their gratitude.
