Making children follower of high moral values, need of the hour : Ramvir

Ferozepur, November 30, 2017: State Level Child Welfare programme dedicated to former Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru was organized by Child Welfare Council, Punjab at Ferozepur.

 

The Chief Guest of the function was Ramvir, Deputy Commissioner and Madam Pritam Sandhu, Secretary Child Welfare Council presided over the function.

 

While addressing the function, the Chief Guest Ramvir Deputy Commissioner said that today's children are the future of tomorrow, who have grown up and contributed to the country's manufacturing and development.

 

He said that all of us have a duty to give our children maximum time and make them good values. Apart from this he also spoke on child labour, child marriage and feticide. He said that the government has been making all possible efforts to eliminate these social evils and by making committees in every village to create awareness.

 

Congratulating the participants, he said, Ferozepur administration is feeling happy to host the state level function with the participation of children from all over the state.  

 

On this occasion, in the 6 to 10 years category of poetry lessons Gurdaspur got first, Bathinda second and Sri Muktsar Sahib got the third position. In the 11th to 14th year's poem text competition, Ferozepur first, Jalandhar second and Pathankot got the third position. In the duet song, Jalandhar first, Faridkot secured second place and Armitsar got the third position. In Faridkot, Jalandhar, second and Sri Muktsar Sahib were in the third position. Similarly, in Faridkot, Faridkot won first, Gurdaspur second and Jalandhar got the third position in Loodi Folk dance competition.

 

The winners were also honoured with certificates and awards by the Chief Guest.
