Make clean, green environment a mission: Gaind DC Ferozepur
Ferozepur, April 9- Continuing its efforts to make Ferozepur a clean and green city, the deputy commissioner Chander Gaind directed that the residents of the district will have to keep the dry and wet waste separately into their homes and collectors will lift and dump the same separately on the fixed 12- points in the city.
Presiding over the meeting with waste collectors, the deputy commissioner Chander Gaind directed that if anyone found dumping the waste other than identified places, will face the music, adding he said that their vehicles will be confiscated and MC will impose the penalty.
Gaind said that 60-pits have been constructed in the city to prepare the compost from wet waste which can be used for fields. Each waste collector will be allotted pit where they can dump the wet waste.
On being informed that they face huge difficulties in segregating the dry and wet waste, the deputy commissioner told that they will collect the waste only from those houses which will keep the waste separately.
He appealed the residents to keep two dustbins in their houses for segregating the waste to facilitate the waste collectors.
He also asked the collectors to wear safety kits while lifting the garbage including gloves and reflecting jackets.
MC sanitary inspector Sukhpal Singh also told the collectors to ensure dumping of waste by 11 am daily so that the waste can be lifted from these 12 sites timely.
