Ferozepur, July 27, 2024: The Lions Club Ferozepur inaugurated its first project for the Lionistic Year 2024-25 with a philanthropic initiative at the Gaushala located outside Zira Gate. This gaushala, which is dedicated to caring for cows with chronic diseases, received a distribution of jaggery and fodder crops from the club.
The event saw the participation of key members of the Lions Club, including President Lion Gurmeet Singh, Secretary Lion Gagan Aggarwal, Treasurer Lion Iqbal Chugh, along with Lions Ashwani Sharma, Rajinder Duggal, Karamjit Singh Jossan, Sachin Chanana, and Anand Goyal.
President Lion Gurmeet Singh highlighted the cultural and spiritual significance of cows in many traditions, particularly in India, where they are often regarded as sacred. He elaborated on the purpose of a gaushala, explaining that it serves as a sanctuary for rescuing, sheltering, protecting, feeding, treating, and rehabilitating weak, sick, injured, handicapped, and abandoned cattle.
As part of their commitment to service, the Lions Club decided to provide jaggery and fodder crops to the gaushala, supporting the well-being of the cows as a key initiative for the current Lionistic Year 2024-25.
