Lack of coordination in Congress party becomes visible – Rana Sodhi could not get a time to speak
Ferozepur, July 18, 2016: With the Punjab Assembly elections just six months ahead, the Congress leaders in Punjab have become active by organizing meetings with the workers at zone levels and just after one day, Manpreet Singh Badal, Vice President, Punjab Congress today again visited Ferozepur Cantt to meet the workers with Satkar Kaur Gehri, Congress Dehati leader.
Present among others on this occasion were Pritam Singh Sandhu Pyareana, senior Congress leader, Kulbir Singh Zira, Harjinder Singh Sabu, Randeep Jhoke, Kuldip Jhoke, Jagjit Singh Dhira Patra, Sukhminder Danny, Rakesh Pandey and Gurbaksh Singh Bhawra.
Speaking on the occasion, Manpreet Singh Badal said, Akali-BJP government has plundered the state during its nine years’ tenure and made it penniless.
Reacting on asking votes for dreaming to rule for 25 years in Punjab by Sukhbir Singh Badal, Dy.CM, he said, we need only 5 years and not 25 years to bring cheers on the face of every Punjabi. He said, the current crop of politicians – Akali-BJP government in Punjab – is at its fag end.
The moment the ‘Model Code of Conduct’ is announced, it would become difficult for Akali leaders to come out of their houses. The people of Punjab will uproot the Akali-BJP sworn alliance, he added.
Manpreet said, Congress is the only party which can take the Punjab on the path of development.
Expressing concern over the suicides by the farmers, Manreept said, we have to stand by the farmers in the uncomfortable situation by drawing a line in the problematic time.
He claimed that all problems will be solved within few months of Congress coming in power.
Attacking on Aam Aadmi Party, Manpreet Badal said, AAP has no stand in the Punjab rather the party having relations with other states have no interest with the Punjab.
Giving another assurance, he said, on coming to power, our first priority will be to put a strict vigil on the drugs menace in the state besides taking accountability for the highhandedness by the Alaki-BJP government with the people of the state.
In reply to the query from media, Manpreet said, the youths have become addicted due to unemployment in the state. There should be a complete ban on drugs.
Bibi Satkar Kaur Gehri, Halqa Incharge Dehati, first started speaking slowly and later on spoke with five-six short intervals as untrained speaker which became a talk of the ‘pandal’.
The moment Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi was asked to address, in the meantime Manpreet Singh Badal caught hold of the mike and Rana Sodhi could not get a time to speak.
Added here, the absence of Congress MLA from Guruharsahai Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, in one such meeting held at Ferozepur two days back, was pinching among the leaders and workers, which clearly speaks of lack of coordination between the Congress leaders.
