Khatri Welfare Sabha appeals all religions to unite for reservation to only poor instead on caste-based
Ferozepur, September 23, 2015: The inclusion of SC and BC category people in the Constitution written after the independence of India, who were recognized as the victim of backward by the governments at that time and the idea behind giving reservation facility, was to uplift their standard of life.
The people of all religions will meet at Saragarhi Gurudawara on 27th September with a view to ignore the feeling of inferior or superior on the concept of castes and to bring equality among all categories of people.
Giving information on the issue, Tarsem Bedi, President Khatri Welfare Sabha and Pawan Bhandari Vice President that Khatri Welfare Sabha had been advocating for equal rights to the people of all religions and has decided to bring people of all religions under one banner.
He further said, in the present time, if we glance at the old families of any religion, it comes on surface that life other religions, the people of other religions like backward class have raised their standard of living and have become capable to stand with other religions.
He said, the students are under threat of reservation who are working hard to get through the competitions exam with the result the frustrated youths of Punjab are becoming drug addict. With the passage of time, the number of castes are being brought under SC and BC categories with the result all categories of people are demanding reservation.
Pawan Bhandari said, Khatri Welfare Sabha have raised the issue in view of existing circumstances that the governments should extend the reservation of economically poor people only instead of caste-based. He said, all the religions will unite at one platform, the day is not far when the bureaucrat governments will have to bow before the voice of people for making amendments in the Constitution.
He shared that in most of the cases, the poor and middle class families are being deprived of the facilities extended to them against the threshold of rich merchants.
The KWS members while expressing their views, appealed to stop the reservation and the reservation under votes scheme should also be extended to Khatri community. Bhandari said, in case the survey is got conducted in Punjab now, the standard of living of most of the families getting reservation benefit have gone up whereas certain families of Khatri are not having the capability to have their own house and they actually deserve the reservation.
