JEE Advanced 2018 Allotment Criteria | 8% to 14% Female Quota Reserved Seats Announced : Vijay Garg
The supernumerary seats to be filled by the women quota that has been introduced by the Ministry of Human Resource & Development in IIT admissions this year have been clearly stated under the reservation policy head in the online JEE (Advanced) 2018 notification. As per the directions of MHRD to the IIT Council, approximately 8% to 14% of the current number of seats in the undergraduate programmes available in Indian Institutes of Technology shall be allotted to the female candidates subject to the fact that they fulfil the allotment criteria for the same. No such information pertaining to how the seats shall be allotted and separate merit list as proposed for IIT admissions via JEE Advanced 2018 exam has been given as of now.
The candidates who wish to avail the female quota in IIT courses shall have to fulfil two eligibility cum allotment criteria wherein they have to qualify the JEE Advanced 2018 exam and secondly the same shall be available strictly in accordance with the performance in the online test. No women candidate shall be entertained for the seat under women quota in IIT admissions if they fail to qualify the JEE Advanced 2018 exam as an entrance test.
