Chandigarh against the implementation of the Legal Aid Defence Counsel (LADC) System.<\/p>\n<p>The advocates who will observe the hunger strike are <strong>Adv. Sharanjit Kaur, Adv. Deepak Maggo, Adv. Yuvraj Singh, Adv. Sandeep Monga, Adv. Maninder Vohra, Adv. Amit Chopra, Adv. Gaurav Dhawan, Adv. Satish Sharma, Adv. Karnail Singh, Adv. Suman, and Adv. Arzoo Handa.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The District Bar Association expressed its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the volunteers for their dedication, commitment and selfless support towards the collective cause of the legal fraternity. The Association stated that the willingness of advocates to participate in the hunger strike reflects the unity and determination of the Bar in safeguarding the independence and dignity of the legal profession.<\/p>\n<p>The Association also placed on record its heartfelt appreciation for all advocates who observed the One-Day Hunger Strike on <strong>July 20, 2026<\/strong>, acknowledging that their sacrifice, solidarity and unwavering commitment have significantly strengthened the ongoing movement against the LADC System and inspired members of the legal fraternity across the region.<\/p>\n<p>The agitation against the LADC System has been continuing across Punjab, Haryana and U.T. Chandigarh under the banner of the Joint Action Committee. In Ferozepur, the District Bar Association has been observing an indefinite strike, suspending judicial work and organising daily one-day hunger strikes in rotation.
