Rising Theft and Robbery Cases Trigger Fear in Ferozepur<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ferozepur is witnessing a worrying surge in thefts and robberies, leaving locals in a state of fear and insecurity. The number of incidents in markets, homes, and shops is steadily increasing, with the latest theft occurring at Mittal Communication, located near Beri Mohalla on Chungi Khana Road.<\/p>\n

Chanchal Mittal, son of Brijmohan Mittal, reported that his shop was targeted by thieves at around 11:45 PM. He had just returned home when he received a phone call at midnight informing him that a break-in had occurred at his store. Rushing to the shop, Chanchal found the shutter broken and merchandise scattered all over. The thieves had stolen several Samsung and Apple phones, both new and used, with a total estimated value of \u20b93-4 lakhs.<\/p>\n

Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, it was revealed that three unidentified individuals arrived on a motorcycle. One wore a cap, another had his face covered with a scarf, and one was unmasked. The footage clearly shows them breaking the shop’s shutter and stealing the phones before fleeing the scene.<\/p>\n

Local resident Sandeep Handa, who witnessed the crime, said he heard a noise and saw the thieves attempting to escape. When he tried to stop them, they brandished a pistol, forcing him to back off.<\/p>\n

Frustration with the police is mounting among the locals. They allege that despite being informed immediately, the police arrived nearly an hour after the incident. One ASI even told shopkeepers that the police force is understaffed and advised them to hire a private security guard.<\/p>\n

The City Police Station In-charge later visited the crime scene in the morning and assured residents that the situation would be resolved swiftly. He urged the community to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activities to help prevent such incidents in the future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
