DIG Maluja inaugurates Cyber Crime Police Station in Ferozepur<\/span><\/p>\n

Ferozepur<\/span>, July 1, 2024:\u00a0 Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Ferozepur Range, today inaugurated the Cyber Crime Police Station in Ferozepur on the campus of Ferozepur<\/span> Cantt<\/span> police station.\u00a0 SSP Soumiya<\/span> Mishra<\/span> was also present on this occasion.<\/p>\n

With the proliferation of digital technology and the increasing prevalence of cybercrimes<\/span>, establishing dedicated cyber<\/span> crime police stations is aimed at strengthening law enforcement\u2019s capabilities to tackle such offences<\/span> effectively. These specialised<\/span> units will investigate various cybercrimes<\/span>, including hacking, online fraud, identity theft, and cyberbullying, among others.<\/p>\n

DIG said that with the increase\u00a0in online frauds,\u00a0 the Punjab Government has taken a significant step towards enhancing cyber<\/span> security and combating digital crimes by announcing the establishment of 28 new cyber-crime<\/span> police stations across the state. These police stations have been set up in each district and police commissioner, marking a strategic move to bolster efforts in addressing cyber-related<\/span> offences<\/span>, as per directions of DGP Punjab, Gaurav Yadav.<\/p>\n

He said the first SHO Navneet Kaur has been posted in this Cyber Crime Police Station along with another 8 employees.\u00a0 One FIR of online trading fraud has been registered for a deposit of Rs.48,650 and demanding Rs.20,000 more.\u00a0 An in-depth investigation will be conducted in this case and we will provide justice to the complainant.<\/p>\n

Since this specialized police station has been opened, now anyone can make\u00a0an online complaint also without any hesitation, we will try to get justice for the cybercrime<\/span> victims at the earliest, said DIG.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
