Permanent camps set up at Shambhu border by farmers to spend nights<\/p>\n

Ferozepur<\/span>, May 4, 2024:\u00a0 The farmers’ rail-roko<\/span> protest at the Shambhu<\/span> border is continuing and has entered its 18th day. The protest has been going on for the last 77 days, disrupting the railway schedule and today 149 trains were disturbed. The farmers have been protesting at the four borders Shambhu<\/span>, Khanauri<\/span>, and Dabwali<\/span> borders between Punjab and Haryana.<\/p>\n

On the Shambhu<\/span> border, the farmers have set up permanent camps and the farmers are spending the night.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Sarwan Singh Pandher, representing Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC<\/span>) Punjab, had said earlier. \u201cDon\u2019t take the test of our patience, take it granted that we will continue our protest till our demands are accepted\u201d.<\/p>\n

The farmers had also planned the Kisan<\/span> Yatra<\/span> in Haryana from May 7 and a state-level rally in Kaithal on May 19.<\/p>\n

Protest by the farmers is to seek the execution of a legal guarantee for a\u00a0minimum support price\u00a0(MSP) for their agricultural produce; justice for Shubhkaran Singh, a young farmer from Bathinda<\/span>, who died on February 21 in clashes between the farmers and police near the Khanauri<\/span> border separating Punjab and Haryana during the \u2018Dilli<\/span> Chalo<\/span>\u2019 protest; and release of arrested farmers during demonstrations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
