Brief on Vijay Stambha – Chittorgarh<\/h6>\n

During our recent tour to Udaipur, on way back, we stopped over to see the victory monument Chittorgarh.<\/p>\n

Chittorgarh is named after its most imposing structure, the\u00a0Chittorgarh Fort\u00a0which stands atop a 180 metre high hill and is spread across 700 acres. Chittorgarh Fort has had a tumultuous past. This bastion of the Rajputs has faced violent attacks thrice in its entire history.<\/p>\n

The Vijaya Stambha is an imposing victory monument located within Chittor Fort in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, India. The tower was constructed by the Hindu Rajput king Rana Kumbha of Mewar in 1448 CE to commemorate his victory over the army of Malwa led by Mahmud Khalji in the Battle of Sarangpur.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a one-time visit place or otherwise, many times, \u00a0if you have to do a research work.<\/p>\n

Presently, it is maintained by Archaeological Survey of India having the facility of taking the vehicle inside the Fort, with nominal ticket of Rs.20 per person and Rs.40 for vehicle. You get the Tour Guide to know the detailed history of the Fort depending upon the smartness of the person from Rs.500 to Rs.800.\u00a0 No Museum or history books are available.<\/p>\n

However, around 8,000 persons are living inside the Fort who are in possession of land, with beautifully constructed houses but having no registration rights but they have power and water connections in their names.<\/p>\n
