On World Disabled Day, Hans Foundation organizes Medical Camp\u00a0 at Home for the Blind<\/p>\n

Ferozepur, November 3, 2023: On World Disabled Day, Hans Foundation organized a medical check-up camp on the campus of Home for the Blind owned by the District Council for the Welfare of Handicapped (Regd.).<\/p>\n

The theme for this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities is –\u00a0United in Action to rescue and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for, with and by persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n

Every year, International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated to raise awareness about the challenges faced by people with disabilities and explore ideas on how we can work together to ensure that\u00a0equal rights\u00a0are provided to each of them. Integration of people with disabilities is important in every aspect of life, mostly political, social, economic and cultural. This day is dedicated to exploring ways to ensure that their well-being is respected.<\/p>\n

The Hans Foundation was established in 2009 to support development at the grassroots and improve the quality of life of underprivileged communities across rural India in the fields of health, disability, education, livelihood, and disaster relief.<\/p>\n

Today, dedicated team members of the medical team of the Foundation \u2013 Neelam Hans, Rimple Handa, Programme Coordinator, Dr.Dharmpal Social Protection Officer, Neelam Sheroran Social Protection Officer, Khushi Singh Pharmacist, Gaurav Rawat Lab Technician, Pardeep Kumar Pilot \u2013 checked up the 38 visually impaired inmates of Home for the Blind and supporting staff members.\u00a0 Apart from this, people from nearby colonies also have the benefit of the camp.<\/p>\n

Neelam, a Team member said,\u00a0 only four months back we started organizing the camp and so far we have checked up 2,800 persons to date. She said, \u201cFrom time to time we organize camps according to the awareness days calendar by WHO and give awareness to the society with guidelines and health care, with a message of prevention is better than cure\u201d.<\/p>\n

Thanking the Hans Foundation Team, Ramesh Sethi, Manager of Home for the Blind said, \u201cPeople born with\u00a0disabilities\u00a0also deserve a high standard of life filled with respect and dignity.
